KNOCK IT STIFF – THE FRENCH QUARTER

Now that we are back from the PGA Show – we will return back to our weekly posts:

If you are 21 please continue reading – if not check back for our next post.  If you are 21, as always please drink responsibly and don’t ruin a great round by driving drunk.  Take a cab or ask a sober buddy for a ride.

After getting home from the PGA Show my family and I decided to head out and grab a quick meal out to close the weekend.  I was planning on writing about a very different drink this week but the drink I had at dinner was so good that I felt it was best to share it with you and hold my other drink until next week.  I hope you Enjoy.

The French Quarter – I am going to do my best recreating the drink based on the ingredients listed on the menu, plus a little research.

First, add one oz. of Rye Whiskey to a mixing glass full of ice (the restaurant we went to used Knob Creek Rye)…

Second, add one oz. of cognac (the restaurant used a rail cognac)…

Third, add one oz. sweet vermouth…

Fourth, the restaurant called this a house bitters mixture, but with a little research it is two dashes of both Angostura bitters and Peychaud’s bitters…

Stir…

Serve either up or over ice with a lemon twist…

Enjoy.

Here at Golf Starz we are all about easy drinks to make.   Tip your bartenders/cart girls and never drink and drive.
