Golf Starz take on the Charles Schwab Cup Championship
The final stop for the legends of the game is at Phoenix Country Club in Arizona. Only 36 remain as we head into the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. What a year for Bernhard Langer by the way. He has won 3 of his last 4 starts and has had a record book year. In fact, he won 1 of every 3 tournaments he entered. And I seriously wonder how he would have fared on the PGA Tour this year. Do you think he could have earned a victory playing with the young guns? Let us know what you think in the comments below. For more on the 60 year old’s historic season click here.
Although this is the first time the Champions Tour has been played at Phoenix Country Club many of these guys have teed it up there before. Hal “Be The Right Club” Sutton was the 1986 Phoenix Open champion, the last PGA event held there. They have done a great job of preserving the historic course while making it a little quicker and tighter… as you can see here.
It seems that it’s all but Bernhard Langer’s Championship to win but this is the finale and the 36 man field means it’s anyone game… Especially when you have guys like Fred Couples, John Daly and last year’s winner Paul Goydos teeing it up. You can see the tee sheet here. Below are our picks for this week. As always, please comment below and let us know who you like.
- Miguel Ángel Jiménez
- Kenny Perry
